  Kai Connick, General Manager

 Kai is a lifelong California native who lived in southern California before moving to the Santa Rosa area in 2017. He has been the store manager for Wild Birds Unlimited in Santa Rosa since it was acquired by Lauren DeRosa and Lynn Raymond in September of 2022. He’s a dedicated animal lover who was previously employed in the pet industry – but working at Wild Birds Unlimited is the best job he’s ever had! His favorite bird is the chickadee. When he’s not in the store, he fills his free time with reading, video games, singing and playing music, his motorcycle, obsessing about his bird feeding setup (of course), and providing a lap for the three cats who graciously allow him to live in their home.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Lucas Seifert, Team Member   

Since 2024

Lucas grew up in Marin County, and moved to the Santa Rosa area in 2020 to study Zoology at Sonoma State University. After joining the WBU team in 2024, he has become fascinated with birds! Aside from birding, Lucas loves animals, football and video games. His favorite bird is the Chestnut-Backed Chickadee.  Jan White, Team Member 

Certified Bird Feeding Trainee Since August 2024

Jan has been a team member at Wild Birds Unlimited since August 2024. A native Californian, Jan was raised in Ann Arbor and returned in 1975, making Sonoma County her home. As a fourth generation "birder," Jan loves exchanging her knowledge and experience with all the interesting people who frequent our nature store. When not at WBU, Jan teaches elementary school, birding, music, and performance. She trains dogs and hoses and loves riding the local trails on her horse, Lexi. Her favorite birds are: Cedar Waxwing, Great Blue Heron, Peregrine Falcon and Golden Eagle.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ashton Gonsalves, Team Member  

Certified Bird Feeding Trainee Since October 2024

Ashton is currently a natural resource management major at the SRJC and is working her way towards becoming a park ranger. She became part of the AMAZING WBU Santa Rosa team in October 2024 and has thoroughly enjoyed learning about all the various backyard bird species. In her free time, she enjoys going on hikes, rockhounding, camping, thrifting, and spending time with her friends and family. Her favorite birds include the Crow, White-Breasted Nuthatch and the Canada Goose.
